Atlantic Weekly: a new online weekly, launching September 11

imageI am happy to announce the launching of a new online editorial initiative, the Atlantic Weekly, where the writer of this blog will also write.  Since it is an intelligent publication, and with really high quality writers, you may be surprised to learn that some of my writing will be there. Well, let me share your surprise and let us wish a long life a many readers to this weekly.

This weekly, in English and Spanish, will provide commentary and opinion on the US from a conservative perspective, understanding “conservative” as it is understood in the United States, without the fixed boundaries the term has in Europe. The contributors to the weekly are excellent professionals from journalism and other areas, who know well the United States. And then there is me, an almost newborn blogger.

Semanario Atlántico / Atlantic Weekly (www.semanarioatlantico.com / www.atlanticweekly.us) is a weekly internet publication devoted to the thoughtful commentary and analysis of current U.S. events and issues. Launching September 11, 2009 Semanario Atlántico/Atlantic Weekly will appear on the web as a weekly bilingual journal of opinion specializing in topics related to political, cultural and social issues in the U.S. Its objective is to communicate efficiently conservative ideas and opinions and to become a must-read for any individuals wanting first-hand information about the U.S. and its transatlantic connections. As the foremost outlet for dissemination of conservative opinion in both Spanish and English, new issues are published weekly and then updated throughout the week.

Semanario Atlántico/Atlantic Weekly will offer intelligent and well-documented opinion from a conservative perspective. Its diverse and thoughtful contributors and opinion editorials demonstrate that American conservatism is not a fixed system of ideological dogmas. Modern-day American conservative thought is the direct descendant of classical liberalism while modern-day American “liberalism” comes from a vague progressivism and relativism that we intend to confront.

From an American conservative perspective, Semanario Atlántico/Atlantic Weekly aligns itself with those principles included in the founding documents of the United States and its self-evident truths: that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. Our contributors are professional journalists as well as individuals accomplished in fields beyond journalism motivated to inform the general public about important issues related to the United States and other morally significant questions for Western civilization.

  • Hi, I found your websites from the Innocent Bystanders blog.

    I have been wondering for awhile about the availability of conservative / center-right outlets aimed at the Spanish language audience. So it is encouraging to see your Palin website and the new Atlantic Weekly.
